What did you want to be after you left school?
Something in health promotion, working with people. I hadn’t thought about practice nursing at the time.
Were you ever in trouble at school?
No. I worked hard and if I knew I wouldn’t be able to finish things on time I spoke to them before hand. I didn’t find out I was dsylexic until I went to university.
What's the best thing you've done in your career?
Take every opportunity – nursing is such a varied career. I love what I’m doing now as I have the opportunity to listen to individual and change processes on a larger scale.
What or who inspired you to do your job?
My mum said when I was 17 write down everything you are interested in – I wrote working with people, health, psychology, not been too academic – have a job at the end of it. She came up with nursing.
