About Me:

My name is John.  I work as a mental health pharmacist in Nottinghamshire.

After A levels (maths, chemistry, physics) I went to Nottingham University School of Pharmacy and graduated in 1987.  I did my pre-registration year at St Thomas Hospital in London and the pharmaceutical company Upjohns in West Sussex.

After I registered as a pharmacist I started my first job as a junior hospital pharmacist at Nottingham City Hospital.  After two years I got a higher banded job at the mental health hospital in Nottingham working as a senior clinical pharmacist.

I currently manage a team of clinical mental health pharmacists and am responsible for our medicines information (MI) service, clinical training, and support research and development (R&D).

I attend and contribute to weekly multidisciplinary (MDT) ward round on a busy adult psychiatric ward and have a weekly clinical commitment in a community mental health team in Nottingham.

I also teach the mental health module at the University of Nottingham School of Pharmacy and write the teaching materials for the Derby University Clinical Pharmacy Post-Graduate Diploma.
