Hi I’m Sam and I am 29. I have been working within the trust as a Pharmacy Assistant for nearly 3 years. I have very recently been given the opportunity to complete the Pharmacy Technician course at work to pursue my career in Pharmacy.

I have had previous careers in care and also was a trainee dental nurse/ reception for 5 years.
I saw the vacancy to become a pharmacy assistant almost 3 years ago and knew this was the career path I wanted to take.
I have a daughter who is almost 6 and I enjoy eating out, meeting up with friends and going to concerts.
I am a caring person who is always willing to listen and have fun.

I have been a Pharmacy Assistant for nearly 3 years and have recently been enrolled onto the Buttercups Pharmacy Technician Diploma. This is completed at work and at home and support is given from assessors and senior staff members.
As a Pharmacy Assistant we have many tasks within the department. We dispense and label prescriptions, complete top ups for the wards to provide them with enough stock for their patients and also complete orders for the school immunisation teams, such as flu vaccines.

My Typical Day:
A typical day at work can involve dispensing a prescription or a patients leave medication when they go home, picking an order for a ward top, working in the robot dispensing weekly packs, compiling orders for the school vaccination teams and much more when requested.
